Be it summer or winter, casual weekends or a glamorous night out, braided hairstyles are here to stay. We especially love the cascading waterfall braid hairstyle which looks absolutely divine for any face shape. The waterfall braid may look complicated but don’t let looks fool you. You will be surprised how easy it is when we take you through these steps.
Step 1: De-Tangle your hair

Braids work best on freshly washed and straightened hair. But if you are naturally blessed with straight hair then you can skip this step. Brush out any tangles or knots and part your hair the way you normally would.

Take a section of your hair at the front of your hairline and divide it into three parts. Then start braiding the regular way three times beginning from the right strand (which is closest to your forehead). When you get to the left strand, pick up a small section of hair like you would in a French braid and bring that strand in the middle.

Step 3: The tricky part

Now that your left strand is in the center, let go of the right strand and pick up another small section right next to where you let it fall. This becomes your new right strand.

Step 4: The waterfall effect

Repeat the process of French braiding your left strand, picking up a new section every time while you let the original right strand fall off. By doing this, you will eventually create a cascading waterfall effect.

Step 5: Pin it right

Once you have reached the back of your head, secure it in place with a help of a bobby pin. For extra hold you can also use a bit of hairspray.

Step 6: The perfect finishing touch

The last and final step is optional but highly recommended as it will tie your whole look together. Pick out a pretty hair accessory like a flower or a bow and clip it where your braid ends.
The waterfall braided hairstyle is definitely the look to try this season if you want to explore something different and unconventional. However, a word of caution: if you are planning to rock this bohemian chic hairstyle while on the beach, don’t leave your house without a trendy pair of sunglasses. We recommend the Tom Ford Leo 55J sunglasses, which will perfectly compliment your new hairdo.
